Toy Haulers

toy haulerA toy hauler can be a travel trailer or fifth wheel with a built-in garage to store your toys. Most toy haulers have a loading ramp, which is ideal for taking along motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATVs or golf cart.

Toy hauler designs are also available in Class A and Class C motorhomes. Travel trailers and fifth wheels seem to be the most popular choice when it comes to toy haulers for RV buyers.

toy haulersAdvantages: By having a built-in garage it provides protection for your toys from the weather. It also gives you additional space for maintenance and repairs if necessary. The living area is separate which provides relaxing, dining, sleeping, bathing and restroom facilities while enjoying off-road sports. The built-in garage of most toy haulers can be adapted into additional living space with bunk beds or a screen porch, depending on model and options.

Disadvantages: The living quarters can be cramped, depending on floorplan. When loaded a toy hauler it may be heavier, requiring a heavy-duty tow vehicle or heavy-duty chassis and drive-train (Class A or Class C motorhome), both resulting in less fuel economy compared to smaller, lighter RVs.
