The best advice I can give to someone who wants to do full-time RVing is to attend an RV show in your area. These are usually held in the late winter or early spring in most large cities. A RV dealership can have only so many units on display. That is why an RV show is a good idea. Currently there are over 30 different fifth wheel manufactures in North America.
A fifth wheel looks like a travel trailer, but have a gooseneck extending in front over the bed of the pick-up truck. They come in sizes from less than 20 feet to greater than 45 feet. The longer the trailer the more suitable it will be for full time use. Fifth-wheels are wonderful to travel down the road. Fifth wheels are easy to tow behind a truck and in most cases you’ll forget it is behind you.
Fifth wheels with a fiberglass exterior last longer and are more durable to extreme weather conditions. When shopping for a fifth wheel be sure to check the kitchen cabinets to make sure they are made from solid wood verses particle board. Also, quality built fifth wheels will come with deluxe furniture, carpets and double Paine windows. The plumbing fixtures will also be full-size made from durable materials.
